Features of the high-efficiency EX series

Efficiency improved by approx. 34% compared with previous models*2. Ideally suited to filling the need to reduce air-conditioning energy costs and improve energy efficiency.

The longer users operate the unit throughout the year, the greater the benefits of conserving the energy in operation that are achieved.

Improved efficiency and smaller foot print

Improved efficiency supported by 2-step evaporation and absorption cycle

Higher efficiency has been achieved by the use of a 2-step evaporation and absorption cycle. This cycle is divided into two steps: an upper step and a lower step.

By ensuring that the chilled water has a temperature of 15°C to 11°C and that the cooling water has a temperature of 32°C to 34.5°C for the cycle in the lower step, the concentration of the solution can be reduced to the same level as for low load operation.

As a result, a large difference in the concentration between the generator and absorber can be realized, making it possible to reduce the volume of the circulating solution. In this way, by diminishing the volume of the circulating solution, the amount of heat loss due to the cooling water and the heat generated by the high-temperature generator are reduced and a higher efficiency is successfully achieved for the cycle.

 

Downsizing: Small-diameter heat-transfer tubes and tube bank layout

Employing small-diameter heat-transfer tubes and optimizing the tube bank layout have resulted in improved performance of the evaporator, absorber, condenser, and low-temperature generator.

 

Improved efficiency: Heat exchangers

The internal cycle heat loss is recovered and high-level efficiency is realized by the low-temperature generator drain heat exchanger.

 

Improved efficiency: High-performance heat exchangers

Newly employed welded plate-type solution heat exchangers easily enables realization of improved efficiency and downsizing. By connecting them in series, the optimum flow rate is assured even when small volumes of solution circulate, achieving both improved efficiency and greater compactness.
